Alex Kendrick grew up in Smyrna, GA and graduated from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications. Later, Alex attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as a minister to college students in Marietta, GA for four years, then married his wife, Christina, and moved to Albany, GA where he served as associate pastor of media at Sherwood Baptist Church.
In 2003, he and his brother,Stephen, founded Sherwood Pictures and began writing, producing, acting, and directing feature films including: Facing the Giants, Fireproof and Courageous. In addition, Alex co-wrote three novels and The Love Dare, which made it to #1 on the New York Times bestseller list.
Alex and his wife have six children.
