Thank you for this two broadcasts. I have also heard the two by Focus on the Family.
And I am thankful for how you touched on important biblical points that I needed
to hear about. I’ve found out the hard way about this. I did break free from reading
this type of books in my late 20s.

But now I do at times struggle with the temptation to see this movie. And in the
past watched movies with content I felt later, as I was convicted that I shouldn’t
have watched. I am still struggling to say not to some. But I have been refined,
more and more. But still I need more discernment. Also, some tv series.

I’ve found this really convicting and encouraging. And have confirmation on
things I haven’t heard spoken of or taught. Only God’s Holy Spirit in Christ Jesus
and His Word made me feel strongly, something is wrong. I need to find out what.

I am currently in a journey of healing as well. From three issues. And I strongly
agree with Juli on the aspect of the spiritual battle. I have been dealing with this
issue as part of a history of reading romance novels and erotica. Fantasy novels
    that included erotica.

What I have been grieving and crying about lately is the full realization that this
is grieving the Holy Spirit. And I have been struggling with numbness of the heart.
Since I was 15, when I started to become addicted to solo sex. I had started to
    read romance novels at 13.

I was born again in the Holy Spirit at 19. But still was a baby christian for many
years and didn’t know a lot about things. I’ve been learning a lot from you, Focus
and other christian radio teaching programs. Also for a time I was hungry for the
    Word of God.

I am still single at 39. And I found the 5 longings do touch on all the reasons I did
get addicted. I have been on a long journey of making many attempts of breaking
free. No been able to find accountability partners who knew how to help me. Even
my past two christian counselors. They haven’t been able to help me with this area
of my life consistently. One christian ministry did help me with teaching some biblical
skills to apply to my daily prayer life.

One thing that really struck me was the topic of how it’s seducing the heart. I’ve felt
often, many seem to not really understand this. And just mention mental health.

I call my disorder an emotional one. Because it feels like my emotions overwhelms my
    mind with negative emotions.

Please, pray for me as I have found a new christian counselor, with whom I have decided
to with purpose seek to find my complete freedom in Christ, to be set apart for the Lord.

So many biblical things spoken of by Juli really resonated for me in igniting a fire to become
refined of the dross that’s been a heavy baggage to carry for many years. I long now more
and more to draw closer to God and become who I am in Christ.

One thing I need specific prayer for is my mind. There is a spiritual block that makes it hard to
focus and read, and remember the Bible and christian literature on the issues I’ve been seeking
help for and I mentioned here. Also, since I was 11, but specifically in my early 20’s, I was also
drawn to things like the solar and lunar zodiac, palm reading, numerology and the metaphysical.
The Holy Spirit is still refining me of it. But in my late 20’s, I did get rid of all literature on this topic.

Please pray for me. I think now more and more. The wound in my heart. Also reflects a wound
in my mind. There is a spiritual battle, to me it feels like a principality is trying to squash me down
to stop me from becoming a kingdom builder.

    • Suzanne

You’re welcome, Elisa. Thank you for sharing. You can connect with an understanding, confidential online mentor at: http://www.familylife.com/mentoring. I hope you will do that. I just prayed for you. Blessings to you.

      • Elisa K.

Thank you, Suzanne. I definitely will. I do need a mentor.
And thank you for praying for me.

I forgot to mention I have not been able to be part of a home church since 2009. I was about to search for a new home church a couple of months ago. But again, started fearing that I wouldn’t be able to find a home church with mature christians who could help me.

Hopefully with a mentor and counsellor and a time of healing I will be able to be part of Sunday worship, which was my favorite part and I miss, been able to sing to Jesus and have the joy of the Lord in my heart again.

OK, you touched on marriages, but i have not heard any arguments on abuse. If a man treated my 24 year daughter that way, i think i would want to hurt him. So as parents of daughters, would you want a man to treat your daughter that way. or if a women treated your son that way. or would you want your son to treat his wife/girlfriend treated her that way. If women thought about how young this women is , would they realize that ths could be their daughters? so thats what angers me.
